W32\Klez is a worm designed to spread via e-mail in a message whose characteristics may vary. Once the infected attachment is run, it will copy itself to the Windows System and Windows/Temp folders. Additionally, W32\Klez will create an entry in the Windows Registry in order to ensure its execution every time the infected system is started up.
Finally, W32\Klez incorporates a polymorphic virus called W32/Elkern, which looks for and eliminates every executable file found in the infected computer. However, this virus will only work correctly under Windows 98.
