Jedi is a macro virus that infects Word documents and the NORMAL.DOT global template that this application uses as the basis for all of its documents. Jedi modifies the information included in the User information tab under the Tools > Options menu of Word.
Jedi spreads through infected Word documents, which automatically infect the Word global template(NORMAL.DOT file).
The original infected document reaches computers through various means: e-mail messages with an infected document, computer networks, CD-ROMs, Internet downloads, FTP, floppy disks, etc.
Jedi is easy to recognize, as it modifies the information included in the User Information tab under the Tools > Options menu of Word. The new information will be as follows:
