Ethan.DT is a macro virus that reaches computers in an infected Word 97 document, with a DOC extension. This document then infects the Word template (NORMAL.DOT file) and spreads its infection to all the Word documents generated with it.
Ethan.DT does not cause any damage in the infected computer, as its only aims are to spread and modify some properties of the Word documents it infects.
Ethan.DT modifies the following properties of the Word documents it infects:

Key words: Ethan.
These modifications are only made in three of every ten infected documents. This means that not all infected documents will contain the changes described above.
In order to check if the properties of your Word documents have changed, go to the Properties option in the File menu and click on the Summary tab to see the document properties. When this virus has infected the active document the tab will appear as follows:
