Class.AZ is a macro virus that runs on December 23, 24 or 25 and infects Word 97 files, as well as the NORMAL.DOT global template used by this application.
Class.AZ disables the antivirus protection incorporated in Word. It also disables some options in this program, displays messages on screen and password-protects Word files.
It is very easy to identify Class.AZ, as on December 3, it displays a message on screen:
On December 24 it displays another message:
Finally, on December 25, Class.AZ assigns a password to the active Word document. This password will be the following: TNT.
