VMPCK1.DG is a macro virus with no destructive effects. However, on Mondays, the virus displays an MS-DOS window when the computer is restarted.
Like the majority of macro viruses, VMPCK1.DG reaches computers in an infected Word 97 document (a file with a DOC extension). Then, it infects the Word template (NORMAL.DOT file) and spreads to all the Word documents generated with it.
The only visible symptom of infection with VMPCK1.DG is shown every Monday. When the system is started up, a text is displayed in an MS-DOS window.
