Marker.N is a macro virus that reaches computers in an infected Word 97 document, with a DOC extension. This document then infects the global template (NORMAL.DOT file) and spreads its infection to all the Word documents generated with it.
Marker.N does not cause any damage in the infected computer, as its only aim is to spread and modify some properties of the Word documents it infects.
Marker.N modifies the following properties of the Word documents it infects:
Key words: Ethan.
These changes are only made in three out of every ten infections carried out. This means that not all infected documents show these changes.
