MoonLight.V is a worm whose main objective is to spread and affect as many computers as possible. The means it uses to spread are the peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing programs and email messages.
Additionally, it prevents users from accessing the following applications:
- Windows Registry Editor
When any of the applications is accessed, instead of them, the Notepad is run.
MoonLight.V is easy to recognize, as it reaches the computer:
- Via email in a message with one of the following subjects:

hi please see this file
RE:bla bla bla
- Via P2P programs making copies of itself under the following names:
