OscarBot.UG is a worm which is designed to receive remote instructions such as launching DDoS type denial of service attacks.
Additionally, it uses techniques in order to avoid detection by antivirus companies, as it terminates its own execution if it detects that it is being executed in a virtual machine environment.
OscarBot.UG spreads through the following means:
- the instant messaging program AIM (AOL Instant Messenger).
- making copies of itself in the removable drives.
OscarBot.UG is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.>
