It is an important vulnerability in Internet Information Services on Windows 2003/XP computers, which allows arbitrary code to be remotely executed on the vulnerable computer.

MS08-006 is not categorized as virus, worm, Trojan or backdoor. It is an important vulnerability in Internet Information Services on Windows 2003/XP computers, which allows arbitrary code to be remotely executed on the vulnerable computer. The affected versions of IIS are 5.1 and 6.0.
If exploited successfully, MS08-006 allows to perform actions on the IIS server with the same privileges as the Worker Process Identity (WPI), which is configured with Network Service account privileges by default.
In order to exploit this vulnerability, an attacker could pass specially crafted input to an ASP page.
