NYB is a boot virus that infects the boot sector of floppy disks and hard disks. This virus does not have any destructive effects.
NYB infects the hard disk of the computer when it is booted from a floppy disk infected with the virus. From then on, all floppy disks used on that computer will be infected and it will have problems starting up.
NYB is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.
However, having problems starting up your computer, can be an indication that NYB has reached your computer.
