How to defragment the hard disk

Over time, excessive fragmentation of the hard disk can cause the computer to gradually slow down. To avoid this, it is advisable to defragment the hard disk every now and again. The frequency will depend on how much the computer is used.

It is advisable to defragment the disk after having performed a file cleanup to remove all the unnecessary files that might have accumulated.

Follow these steps to defragment the disk:

  1. In the main window of the program, click the PC Tuneup icon.

  2. In the Defragment drives section, click Open Defragmenter.

  3. Select the disk drive that you want to defragment, and click Optimize.

  4. A message will be displayed when the process is complete. Click Finish.
