Configuring the detection of calls to unauthorized phone numbers

The detection of calls to unauthorized numbers protects against certain types of programs (dialers), which close an existing phone connection (if you are using a modem) and establish another connection to a premium-rate number.

Note: Dialers affect computers with conventional modem dial-up Internet connections. Broadband Internet connections are not affected.

lets you specify the numbers to which calls can be made. The program will block calls to unauthorized numbers and display a pop-up warning.

Follow these instructions to specify the telephone numbers which you want to authorize:

  1. Click Identity protection in the main window of the program.

  2. To enable this protection, set the control to the ON position. To disable it, set it to OFF.

  3. In the section for detecting calls to unauthorized numbers, select the Detect attempts to dial unauthorized phone numbers checkbox and click Settings.

  4. You will see a window in which you can enter the telephone numbers to authorize. Click Add to add new numbers to the list. If you want to modify one of the numbers, select it and click Edit. If you want to delete a number from the list, select it and click Delete.
