Panda Security, The Cloud Security Company, has been presented with the Prince Felipe Award for Business Excellence 2009, in the Information Society category. This award, which was presented by the Princess of Asturias, is given by the Spanish Ministry for Industry, Tourism and Commerce and is the highest distinction that players in the Spanish business community can receive. It recognizes the effort to improve competitivity, while drawing attention to the importance of effective business management.

According to members of the award committee, Panda Security delivers competitive solutions for all types of users and is in the technological vanguard of the IT security industry. It was one of the first companies to shift from reactive to preventive solutions and offer security from the cloud (www.cloudantivirus.com and http://cloudprotection.pandasecurity.com/es/), consolidating its position as “The Cloud Security Company”. Panda Security is a leader in the research, development and provision of integrated security solutions to combat viruses, hackers, Trojans, spyware, phishing, spam and other Internet threats, and the award committee specifically underlined the effort of Panda Security that saw it become a founding member of the National Cyber-Security Advisory Council in May 2009.

Award winners were chosen by five separate juries, one for each category, each comprising nine recognized experts in their respective fields.

According to Juan Santana, Panda Security CEO, “We are extremely satisfied with this award. It recognizes the effort we have been making over the last few years, and our commitment to all our stakeholders, including our shareholders, users, partners, etc. We are enjoying our 20th anniversary as a company with great hopes for the future, and during 2010 we intend to continue consolidating our position in the market as a global reference in the IT sector”.

This award rounds off a strong 2009 for Panda Security, after a string of prestigious prizes and recognition from governments, organizations and the specialized press around the world. Much of this positive reaction recognizes the corporate strategy adopted by the company since 2008, as well as the effort of the management team and the groundbreaking cloud-based security solutions launched by the company this year.
