panda 4.0

Google has last week announced the update of its Panda algorithm to version 4.

As has become the norm, Matt Cutts was appointed to explain the latest patch to this algorithm, which at present would seem only to affect 7.5% of searches in English.

What is Panda 4.0?

Although there is still much to discover –SEO (Search Engine Optimization) specialists around the world are on the edge of their seats- Panda 4.0 will above all continue to reward high quality content in search results. Yet this time, Google will also create the opportunity for more modest sites to fight for the top spots in the SERP (search engine results pages), those who could not normally compete against the Internet giants.

With Panda 4.0, Google’s webspam team (the department that aims to guarantee the quality of the results offered by the search engine) are continuing their crusade against spam content websites that occupy the top spots in Google’s results pages and which have been manipulated to seem more relevant to the search than they are.

The most important changes are still to come, although it would seem that eBay is one of the first to be affected by this update.

The question now is… When will Panda 4.0 reach Spain and how will it affect us?
