Chunking and Pipelining are two formats for sending email that are normally used between internal mail servers (for example, Outlook 2000 and Exchange 2000) and by mass-mailing applications.
These formats are extended commands of the SMTP protocol. Panda GateDefender does not scan traffic sent in these formats. Therefore, the unit will cancel the Chunking and Pipelining commands, handling and scanning this traffic as if standard SMTP traffic.
TLS (Transaction Layer Security) is a type of encryption used in SMTP mail servers. Panda GateDefender is not compatible with encrypted traffic scanning and therefore, will not scan mail traffic that uses this technology.
