PandaLabs takes part at the “2008 e-crime congress”

Luis Corrons, Technical Director of PandaLabs, the malware analysis and detection laboratory at Panda Security, will attend the sixth edition of the “e-crime congress” (2008), an international event set to take place in London on March 5 and 6. During the event, Luis Corrons will explain the current cyber-crime situation and describe new malware trends.

“My presentation in this year’s “e-crime congress” will include real examples of cyber-crime that have taken place over the last months and their effects. I will also look at the threats that will increase this year and the threats that users and companies have to face, such as infection of web pages, targeted attacks and the increasing use of botnets,” explains Corrons.

This year’s event will focus on successfully managing risks associated with the increasingly-sophisticated Web-based attacks that target consumers, as well as corporate networks and infrastructures. It will describe how companies should prepare for emerging and existing threats (Trojans, botnets, spyware, automated phishing and pharming, etc.), how to prevent online fraud and safeguard corporate reputation, helping them understand the impact of data loss and ways in which it can be avoided.

The sessions and educational seminars run by international professionals and experts, together with objective analyses from leading service suppliers, including Panda Security, will focus on the latest methodologies and solutions that can be applied by companies and organizations to stop cyber-crime.
