Protocols to scan
Panda GateDefender Performa intercepts and scans HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP and TNP traffic, searching for viruses, worms and Trojans.
If you uncheck the box that appears next to each of these protocols in the antivirus protection settings screen, Panda GateDefender will cease to scan that protocol.
Note: The protocols settings in the antivirus protection settings window will also automatically apply to the following protection: anti-jokes, anti-spyware, anti-dialers and content filtering.
The system uses the standard port to intercept and filter traffic for each of the protocols. However, it is possible to enter additional ports for each of the protocols. In this way, communication will be scanned both in standard ports and in the additional ones.
Protocol | Default Port |
HTTP | 80, 8080 |
FTP | 21 |
SMTP | 25 |
POP3 | 110 |
IMAP | 143 |
NNTP | 119 |
Panda GateDefender Performa will not allow the following ports to be entered:
Traffic that doesn’t use any of the standard ports or any of the additional ports included in this section will not be scanned. For this reason it is important to configure it correctly.
