PandaLabs

Since 1990, PandaLabs' mission has been to analyze new threats as soon as possible to ensure that our clients are safe. Several teams specialized in each specific type of malware ( viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, phishing, spam, etc. ) work 24x7 to offer global coverage. To do this they are supported by TruPrevent Technologies, a truly global early warning system made up of sensors that are strategically distributed and neutralize new threats and send them to PandaLabs for in-depth analysis.

Our protection strategy consists of developing a specific solution for each layer, scanning code more deeply and thoroughly as it penetrates systems or tries to run.

Panda's first line of defense consists of reactive signature-based and rule-based technologies. Its aim is to look for, identify and eliminate any of the more than 100,000 examples of malware known to PandaLabs, before they run. This is the most effective way of protecting computers against known malware.

The work of PandaLabs involves keeping this first line of defense as effective as possible. To do this, it finds and studies any new potentially dangerous code in order to accurately identify it and create the signature that allows Panda's products to recognize it and eliminate it from then on.

If new malware, not yet identified by PandaLabs, slips past this first line of defense, the TruPrevent Technologies can block it using advanced deep code inspection and behavioral analysis techniques. What's more, the new example is sent to the laboratory where it is studied and identified.

By doing this, TruPrevent acts as a network of sensors distributed around the globe, providing an early warning about new malware and allowing PandaLabs to rapidly detect and act on zero-day attacks as soon as they are released. This system allows Panda Software to detect new malware before other manufacturers do.

When PandaLabs receives suspicious files, its specialized teams rapidly classify them, analyze them in-depth and develop the signature to identify them.

After rigorous quality assurance testing, the new signatures are published in our servers so that our customers worldwide can automatically and incrementally update their signature files and at the same time, we release information about the new malware through various media. The average time it takes to complete this process is currently less than 2 hours.

According to AV-Test.org, PandaLabs is the fastest in the industry to offer complete updates against new threats.
