Panda GateDefender Performa is a scalable and ultra-reliable dedicated perimeter security device offering maximum protection against content-based threats in the gateway. It blocks all types of malware, spam, undesirable content and other Internet threats before they enter the company.

High scalability and load balancing
Its load balancing is completely automatic and native, allowing the workload to be shared across multiple units. Increasing, as a result, the scalability and performance of the perimeter protection against viruses, spam and inappropriate content.
Simple installation and setup
Designed for simple installation in any corporate network, with no need for configuring or redirecting network traffic. It operates in transparent bridge mode. Once installed, Panda GateDefender Performa scans traffic in both directions between the Internet and the corporate network.
Complete protection
Panda GateDefender Performa scans the most widely used protocols: HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP4 and NNTP for malware, spam or inappropriate web content. However, you can also enter additional ports for each protocol.
Preventive protection

Its anti-malware protection detects and blocks all types of damaging threats before they reach the corporate network: viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, dialers, jokes, phishing, hacking tools, security risks and -through its heuristic engine- threats not yet cataloged.
The Content Filter lets you customize the types of files and messages to be filtered. It applies filters such as maximum file size, maximum number of files in a compressed file, password protection…
It scans nested messages and even their attachments. Similarly, it can filter by content, by subject, by type, etc.
Panda GateDefender Performa checks corporate email, reducing the impact of spam on the productivity of the user.
Every message is classified as Spam, Probable spam or Not spam. The intensity of the scan can be configured to prevent false positives. It is also possible to configure sender white lists and blacklists.
The Web filter can restrict access to web pages with unproductive content simply by selecting prohibited categories. It therefore optimizes resource usage and improves user productivity.
Panda GateDefender Performa lets you control use of applications that can represent an important security hole: Instant Messaging (IM) and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) programs. The use of both of these types of programs can be restricted inside the network.
Different policies for different users (Integration with LDAP/AD)
Panda GateDefender Performa integrates with directory management systems like LDAP or Active Directory. This enables management of existing users and groups on the network. It also lets you assign security policies based on specific users or groups. You can also define policies based on profiles adjusted to different user and group combinations.
Quarantine
Panda GateDefender Performa stores potentially dangerous files and emails in the quarantine. These files and emails are suspected of containing unknown malware or considered as probable spam The aim of quarantine is to ensure that users have access to any important files or emails.
- Malware quarantine. Reserved for contaminated files that cannot be disinfected or are suspected of containing unknown malware.
- Spam quarantine. Reserved for emails classified as spam or probable spam.
- Content Filter quarantine. Reserved for files or mail blocked by the application of security policies.
Load balancing
All Panda GateDefender Performa models include native and automatic load balancing. This guarantees high availability in critical systems through redundancy in active/active status systems.
On the other hand, the scalability of the perimeter security system is also supported by load-balancing. Load balancing allows performance to be increased accordingly as new hardware units are added to the system.
Self-repair system
Panda GateDefender Performa devices have a system for continuing analyzing the integrity of the software and hardware. The system can even restart the service if necessary, with no need for administrator intervention.
