For the second year running, Panda Security has been rated the leading Spanish software company in the 2009 Truffle 100 Europe index (http://www.truffle100.com/2009/edito.php), which lists the top 100 European software vendors. This ranking was created by Truffle Capital, one of the main European risk capital companies; CXP, a software market research organization and IDC, global leader in market research. This year, Panda Security is in 39th place and is the first Spanish company in the ranking. Truffle 100 classifications are based on software companies’ previous year’s turnover and the money invested in R+D (Research + Development).

Its long and successful history and constant growth have enabled Panda Security to obtain this excellent position and to be granted other awards and recognition, including the Prince Felipe Award for Business Excellence (https://press.pandasecurity.com/news/panda-security-closes-2009-with-a-string-of-prestigious-awards-and-industry-acclaim-for-its-strategy-and-solutions/) and the nomination for the FinancialTimes-ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Award in the “newcomer” category: http://www.ft.com/pp/boldness/

Innovation, another aspect analyzed by Truffle 100, is one of Panda Security’s fundamental pillars. Since it was founded 20 years ago, it has reinvested 30% of its profits in R+D every year. Additionally, Panda Security has become a reference for the IT security market, particularly over the last year, with the launch of Panda Cloud Antivirus (www.cloudantivirus.com), the first antivirus to protect home computers from the cloud (Internet) and the new cloud-based security service for companies, Panda Cloud Protection (http://cloudprotection.pandasecurity.com).

“2009 has been a very positive year for Panda. Not only have we become a worldwide reference once again thanks to the launch of our new security systems for companies, we have also increased our brand awareness as shown by the many awards we have received. Our objective for the next few years is to continue growing above the market average and continue being the IT security leaders in Europe. To do so, we will keep developing new technologies and focusing on innovation. Rankings like this prove we are on the right track,” explains Juan Santana, Panda Security’s CEO.
