VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a technology used to create a private connection on a public network such as the Internet.
This technology allows a remote user to connect to the company network securely across the Internet. To achieve this, information is encrypted at source and decrypted at the destination. This prevents it from falling into the wrong hands.
The VPN in Panda appliances supports all main VPN protocols:
- IPSec. Server and client mode.
- L2TP. In server mode.
- PPTP. In server mode.
- SSL. Server and client mode.
It can also operate on different configurations:
- Host to host, between two computers.
- Host to Net, between a network (internal) and a computer (remote user)
- Net to Net, between two networks (branch offices)
In the case of remote users (roadwarriors), validation and authentication of users and passwords is essential to guarantee the security of the access system.
The VPN system in Panda devices allows validation through RADIUS servers. This facilitates administration management and system security.
