P2PShared.U is a worm whose main objective is to spread and affect as many computers as possible.

The means it uses to spread are the peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing programs, email messages and removable drives.

Visible Symptoms 

    

P2PShared.U is easy to recognize, as it displays the following symptoms:

  • It reaches the computer in a file which has the icon of a snowman:

  • When it spreads via email, it sends one of the following messages:

    - One of them seems to be a McDonald's Christmas promotion which offers a  discount coupon:

    - The second contains a Hallmark e-card which seems to be sent from a friend:
