Banker.AEP is a Trojan with backdoor characteristics that obtains confidential information from the user.
In order to do so, it checks if certain websites, which belong to banking entities, are accessed. Then, it will close them and open others of similar characteristics, in which several sensitive data is requested, such as user name, date of birth, passwords, etc, and the logged information is sent to several email addresses.
Additionally, a singular characteristic of Banker.AEP is that the interface it creates is designed to imitate Internet Explorer windows on Windows XP in Portuguese.
So, if Banker.AEP is run in any other version or language, the Internet Explorer windows will not be the usual, they will belong to Windows XP and will be in Portuguese. Besides, it will be not possible to access either the tool bars or the menus, as these functionalities are disabled in the false interface.
