Brief Description 

    

Smitfraud.A is a virus that infects the Windows file WININET.DLL and hooks all the calls to the function HttpSendRequest.

Smitfraud.A infects computers that have been affected by the apyware detected as Smitfraud. The infected DLL is used by the spyware in order to carry out its effects: log the web pages accessed by the user and download and run a file that installs a so-called antispyware program on the computer, stealthily and without user consent.
