Gorgs.A is a Trojan with keylogger characteristics, that logs the keystrokes entered by the affected user in a file that is sent to its creator when it reaches a certain size.
On Windows Me/98/95 computer, Gorgs.A uses the API function RegisterServiceProcess in order not to have its process displayed in the task list. On Windows XP/2000/NT computers, the Trojan injects itself into the system process EXPLORER.EXE, so that no suspicious process appears on the Task Manager. In case this injection failed, the Trojan will also be run, but its process will show on the Task Manager.
Gorgs.A does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer. The means of transmission used include, among others, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, email messages with attached files, Internet downloads, FTP, IRC channels, peer-to-peer (P2P ) file sharing networks, etc.
