Form is a boot virus that infects the boot sector of floppy disks and of hard disks.
Form infects the hard disk of a computer when it is booted from a floppy disk that is infected with this virus. From then on, all of the floppy disks used on that computer will be infected and it will have problems starting up.
Form has been programmed to play a clicking sound through the PC speaker, whenever the user presses one key on 18th of any month. However, this will only occur on computers where the KEYB.COM keyboard driver is not installed.
Its effects are more destructive on Windows NT computers, as after infection, it will be necessary to repair the boot sector of the hard disk.
The only visible symptom is that infected computers have problems starting.
In addition, Form emits a clicking sound through the PC speaker whenever the user presses a key on 18th of any month, as long as the KEYB.COM keyboard driver is not installed. However, this is not very common, as most computers have this driver installed by default.
