Brief Description

Remplace is a stealth type macro virus that infects Word documents, as well as the global template used by this application.

In addition, Remplace disables certain Word options and eliminates some macros that do not belong to Word.

Remplace uses the means normally used by macro viruses to spread. First of all, it infects the global template, and from then on, it will infect every Word document opened, closed or saved on the affected computer.

Visible Symptoms

Remplace is very difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate that it has infected a computer.

However, once Remplace has infected a computer, it modifies the original content of the document and replaces any word containing the text doncwith some sentences created by the virus. For more information, consult the section Means of infection.
