IRCBot.D is a backdoor that has been massively sent in an e-mail message with the subject Last Update and the attachment NAV32.EXE. The message tricks the user into thinking that it comes from an antivirus enterprise.
When the attached file is run, IRCBot.D goes memory resident and connects to an IRC channel.
IRCBot.D receives remote control commands via IRC in order to carry out the following actions, among others: redirect ports, download and run files, scan ports, update the backdoor, launch denial of service (DoS) attacks and send the backdoor to other IRC channels.
