Brief Description

Onex.F is macro virus  which has the following effects:

  • Deletes temporary files (in the Temp directory).
  • Disables the antivirus protection of macros in Word 97 and Word 2000, lowering the security level.
  • Prevents the user from disabling macros included in documents (Word versions 97 and 2000).

It is easy to become infected because the virus can spread through a variety of file types, such as Word documents with the extension DOC-, that launch the virus once opened.

The primary goal of Onex.F is to infect documents and the global template file of Word- NORMAL.DOT- (versions 97 and 2000).
