Brief Description 

    

VBS/Loveletter.AS is a worm that reaches computers in an e-mail message that aims to trick users into thinking they have received a love letter. Whenever VBS/Loveletter.AS affects a computer, it automatically sends itself out to all the contacts in the Address Book.

In addition, VBS/Loveletter.AS overwrites the content of all files with VBS and VBE extensions, making them irretrievable.

On November 7, it deletes all the network disk drives that can be accessed by the affected computer. This makes this worm particularly damaging for companies.

Visible Symptoms 

    

VBS/Loveletter.AS is very easy to recognize, as it reaches the computer in an e-mail message with the following characteristics:

  • Subject:
    US PRESIDENT AND FBI SECRETS =PLEASE VISIT = > (http://WWW.2600.COM)< =
    In some cases the subject consists of six characters selected at random.
  • Message:
    VERY JOKE..! SEE PRESIDENT AND FBI TOP SECRET PICTURES.
    The message can also be a text containing ten characters selected at random.
  • It includes an attachment with a variable name.
