VBSWG.Z is a worm that is easy to recognize, as it spreads very rapidly via an e-mail message with the subject Mawanella, and an attachment called MAWANELLA.VBS.
VBSWG.Z is considered a moderate threat, as its main objective consists of spreading to other computers and displaying messages on screen.
A clear indication that you have received VBSWG.Z is an e-mail message with the following characteristics:
The worm activates when the attachment is run.
It then displays the following message on screen, asking users to forward the message they have received.VBSWG.Z
only displays that text if it has failed to send out a message containing the virus.
