Newlove.A is a dangerous worm because it deletes all the files found in the affected computer and replaces them with copies of itself under the same name as the deleted file but with a double extension. For instance, it deletes the file FILE.TXT and it creates a copy of itself under the name FILE.TXT.VBS.
By doing this, all the information contained on the computer will be lost.
Newlove.A spreads via e-mail. It sends an e-mail message with variable characteristics to all the contacts found in Outlook’s Address Book.
Newlove.A is difficult to identify, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate that it has infected a computer.
In order to find out if Newlove.A has reached your computer, check if you have received any e-mail messages with the characteristics described in the section Means of Transmission.
