W32/Dengue is a virus belonging to the W32 virus group, that affects Windows 32-bit operating systems (Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000). This is a polymorphic virus that infects Windows PE (Portable Executables) files. As W32/Dengue is a polymorphic virus, it will encrypt its code in a different manner on every infection (its signature changes every time).
This virus was created by GriYo, a member of the 29A group of virus writers.
W32/Dengue copies its code at the end of targeted files, modifying their size in such a way that this can always de divided by 101.
It also deletes files that are essential for certain antivirus programs: IVP.NTZ, CHKLIST.CPS, ANTI-VIR.DAT, CHKLIST.MS and AVP.CRC.
