Class.CP is a macro virus that reaches computers in an infected Word document (file with a DOC extension). From there, it infects Word's global template (NORMAL.DOT file), spreading its infection to all the other Word documents created using this template.
The effects of Class.CP are more annoying than damaging:
- It prevents the user from editing macros and from accessing Visual Basic Editor.
- It disables the options in the Word main menu.
- It modifies the Word configuration.
- It modifies the text in the documents it infects, moving them randomly from left to right.
Class.CP reaches computers in an infected Word document through the usual means used by viruses.
It is difficult to know if Class.CP has reached a computer.
However, once Class.CP has infected a computer, many symptoms can be noticed:
It moves the text in active Word documents from left to right.
It emits strange sounds when the user clicks on certain buttons.
It displays the following text in Spanish:
& Application.UserName & "BlackViruZ : tengo MacroViruZ que crear, antiviruz que evadir y documentos que matar.
