Brief Description

SilentBanker.D is a Trojan designed to intercept bank transfers and modify the account details to which users make the transfer, changing them to the account details of the cybercrook, without user's awareness.

When users enter the details of the account to which the tranfer is going to be made in the legitimate website of the banking entity and the request is sent, the Trojan intercepts the request and modifies the data replacing them with the account details of its creator.

Then, users are redirected to a website which informs them that the transfer has been confirmed and which shows the details of the account to which the transfer has been made. However, this website is not the legitimate one, but a fake website displayed by the Trojan in order to deceive users.

SilentBanker.D does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer.

Visible Symptoms

SilentBanker.D is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.
