MakeSnake.A is a Trojan that carries out several modifications in the Windows Registry, which prevent the user from working with the computer as usual.
These modifications prevent the user from carrying out the following actions, among others:
- Doing searches and running files in a fast and straight way, as it disables the options Search and Run from the Start menu.
- Modifying the configuration of the features of the folders.
- Accessing the command shell (CMD).
MakeSnake.A reaches the computer in a file that has the icon belonging by default to a folder, in order to pass itself off as an inoffensive file and deceive users. However, it does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer.
MakeSnake.A is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.>
