Junkie.Mbr is a virus that reaches computers in a compressed file called PSPTC.ZIP, which seems to contain a program that allows users to copy the game Pacific Strike. However, this files actually contains a program called PSTATCH.COM, which contains the virus.
The virus is run when the computer is booted from a floppy disk infected by Junkie.Mbr, or when the program hidden on it is run (PSTATCH.COM).
Junkie.Mbr is a dangerous virus, as it infects both executable files and the boot sector of floppy and hard disks, thereby causing problems at start-up.
The main indication that Junkie.Mbr has reached your computer is that the affected computer will have problems starting up.
