Nuwar.D is a worm that downloads malware, as well as an update of itself, to the affected computer.
Additionally, it ends several processes, such as regedit.exe and hijackthis.exe, among others.
Nuwar.D uses different means to spread:
- Via email.
- Across the Internet.
- Through peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing programs, such as eMule and eDonkey.
Nuwar.D is difficult to recognize, as it does not display any messages or warnings that indicate it has reached the computer.
However, when it spreads via email, it reaches the computer in an email message with one of the following attached files:
