Denial of service in the Linux kernel

Madrid, November 21, 2007 – Two vulnerabilities have been reported in the Linux kernel that could be used to cause denial of service conditions on affected machines.

The first flaw affects the wait_task_stopped function, whereas the second is due to a reference error in the tcp_sacktag_write_queue function when handling ACK packets.

These security problems are solved in version 2.6.23.8, available at www.kernel.org.
