Madrid, August 23, 2007 – Sun Solaris has reported a security flaw in the ATA disk driver that could be exploited by malicious users to cause denial of service problems.
The problem occurs when the ATA disk handles certain IOCTL functions.
The security flaw affects the x86 platform on Sun Solaris 8, Sun Solaris 9 and Sun Solaris 10 operating systems using ATA disks. Although no patches have been released for this specific vulnerability, users can update the x86 platform by downloading the patches below:
Solaris 8: patch 109798-04 or later; Solaris 9: patch 117122-03 or later; Solaris 10: patch 123779-02 or later;
