Symptoms
- Error 12007 when updating.
- Error 404 when updating.
- Problems accessing security websites (Microsoft, Panda Security, etc.).
Solution
- It is necessary to change the DNS settings. In order to do so, follow the steps below:
- Go to Start, Settings, Control panel, Network connections.
- Right-click on the network connection you use to access the Internet and select Properties.
- In This connection uses the following items section, scroll down and select the option called Internet protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
- Check the option Obtain DNS servers address automatically.
- Now, update your antivirus program.
- Finally, perform a full scan of your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Carry out a Windows update.
