Information about the Conficker worm
What does the Conficker worm do exactly? Conficker is a malicious program that generates URLs at random and checks, on the infected computer, if any of those URLs contain new versions of its malicious code. If they do, it downloads them. It can send out spam from your computer without you noticing, steal confidential data, etc.
Tips to stay protected
- Servers and Workstations should be patched by following the Microsoft Bulletin related to this vulnerability, available here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-067.mspx
