Automatic, every day

The automatic update service keeps your computer protected against the latest viruses and threats as they appear every day. Panda Software releases a new, updated Virus Signature File at least every single day.

The updates also include access to new incremental versions and technical improvements incorporated in your Platinum 2006 product, which are automatically installed. (Note: from the Downloads area of our website, you can also manually log in and get the latest version of the program.)


Incremental updates save you time

The entire Virus Signature File is large, but to save you time and bandwidth, Panda sends only the additions to the Virus Signature File each day. However, if Panda detects that your signature file has become more than 10 days out of date, then the entire signature file is sent as a replacement.

A Smarter update -- SmartClean2 technology

Included in the Virus Signature File is instructions to Platinum 2006 on how to clean up any virus or spyware infections... and return your operating system to pre-infection status. It's all handled automatically. Competing solutions require you to manually download repair utilities for disinfection and then manually repair your operating system.


A Faster scan

Panda's scan engine has been tested and verified to be the fastest (avtest.org) and most efficient available. While competing antivirus scan engines constantly copy files from hard drive to RAM (memory) and back to hard drive, Panda's scan engine efficiently scans files in RAM, preserving your system resources.
