Tool for viewing the URLs accessed on computers with Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced
Information applies to:
|Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced|
From 6.50 version, Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced includes URL filtering. Therefore, it may be necessary for administrators to access a history of the URLs accessed on each computer in order to check that the filtering feature is not blocking pages that should not be blocked, and to closely monitor the URLs accessed by each user.
For this reason, Panda Security has developed a tool to let administrators view all the URLs accessed on a specific computer.
The URL filtering tool serves two main purposes:
If there are problems accessing a URL, administrators can make sure access is not denied by the URL filtering feature included in Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced.
Administrators will be able to see detailed information about the URLs accessed on certain computers.
Steps to run the tool
Unzip the file to a folder.
From the Command Prompt, browse to the folder containing the files and run the WebAccessControlViewer.exe program.
WebAccessControlViewer [-d:nDays] [-o:Filepath] [-h]
-d:nDays: Displays the URLs accessed in the last N days from the current day. Unless otherwise specified, the parameter will return the URLs accessed in the last 31 days.
Important note: The dates of the monitored URLs correspond to the local time of the computer where the tool is run and the URLs displayed will always include the urls accessed from 00:00 on the day indicated to the current time.
-o:Filepath: Saves the resulting .csv file to the specified path.
-h: Displays a Help file with information about these parameters.
WebAccessControlViewer.exe -d:1 -o:C:\urls.csv
After the program is run, a .csv file is generated that can be opened with a spreadsheet program, for example, MS Excel.
If using MS Excel to view the data, it is advisable to use the Excel option that allows you to convert comma-separated text into columns.
The spreadsheet will provide the following information:
HOSTNAME: Computer name
DATE: Date and time when the URL was accessed
URL: URL accessed from the computer
USERNAME: User that accessed the page
ACTION: Indicates if the URL was allowed or blocked by the Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced URL filtering feature.
CATEGORY 1: Indicates under which category Panda Cloud Office Protection Advanced classified the URL.
